About Bart Talloen

Bart Talloen is a retired senior manufacturing and supply chain executive with 35 years of global experience across Asia, Europe and North America. He is currently an Executive Fellow at the World Economic Forum (WEF) and serves on WEF’s Global Future Council for Advanced Manufacturing and Supply Chains, the Global Lighthouse Network Advisory Board and Expert Panel. Bart also runs his own consulting firm, ElevateEx, and is a board member of several organizations. He regularly conducts external speaking engagements and participates with the Manufacturing Leadership Council (part of NAM), and the Collaborative Eco-system for Smart Manufacturing Innovation (CESMII) in various capacities. Additionally, Bart is known as an avid fitness enthusiast, having attempted (and broken) Guinness World Records in push-ups and chin-ups. He also promotes fitness and wellness through Bart's Challenge, an annual competition he organizes in collaboration with and in support of the Greater Somerset County YMCA in New Jersey, USA. Bart’s Challenge has raised $300,000 (and counting) to benefit our neighbors in need.

During his career in pharmaceutical Rx, OTC, consumer goods, and medical devices, Bart managed large manufacturing and supply chain networks; acquired and divested businesses and manufacturing operations; led global enterprise-wide strategy and technology innovation teams; and oversaw large-scale business transformation programs. He also successfully executed an FDA Consent Decree and re-certified three manufacturing facilities. He has a proven track record in developing high performing organizations and leaders aswell as in delivering transformational performance improvements. Bart is a certified six Sigma Master Black Belt and Executive Lean Sensei Director.

His expertise and achievements in supply chain strategy, continuous improvement, and technology innovation are broadly recognized. Under Bart's leadership at Johnson & Johnson (J&J), his achievements garnered numerous accolades for both J&J and himself, such as:

    • J&J listed in top five supply chains in Gartner's annual ranking and number one in the healthcare supply chain ranking from 2019-2023.

    • Recipient of eleven lighthouse designations from the WEF for deployment and scaling of advanced manufacturing technologies between 2018 and 2023 (most of any company globally).

    • Gartner's 2021 Power of the Profession Award for J&J's 3D printing COVID response efforts, all of which were developed and implemented under Bart's Leadership.
    • 2017 Operational Excellence Award from the MLC for the Johnson & Johnson Production System (JJPS), which Bart spearheaded from development to deployment.
